Dr. Pamila Brar has practiced Internal Medicine in La Jolla, California since 1999, opening her own private concierge practice in 2009. Her private medicine practice utilizes technology to deliver highly individualized real-time medical care to patients at home, in the office, and across the care continuum. Her “open door” style is appreciated by all, from her adolescent patients up to her centenarians. Pam is a tireless advocate for her patients, and loves to motivate and empower all under her care.
Dr. Brar is a graduate of the Scripps Clinic Internal Medicine Residency Program and was named the Ellen Browning Scripps Chief Medical Resident in 1998 before joining the general division of Internal Medicine. Pam holds an MD degree from Louisiana State University at New Orleans. She is certified both by the American Board of Internal Medicine, and the American Board of Integrative Holistic Medicine.
As a patient engagement advocate, she routinely appears in local and national media on wide range of current health care topics. Her approach is to deliver up-to-date, evidence-based information via technology designed to be immediately accessible to her patients and her audience.
She currently is serving as President-Elect for the American Academy of Private Physicians. Founded in 2003, the AAPP is a national non-profit organization that provides advocacy for the direct patient-doctor relationship and explores solutions to our changing health care system.
Pam’s leadership style incorporates the Japanese philosophy of kaizen (continuous improvement) and her passion for growth elevates the productivity of her practice. The daily interactions she has with patients inspire her entrepreneurial endeavors outside of the office. One of her current interests relates to the role that technology plays in the daily lives and wellbeing of her patients.
To practice what she preaches, Pamila enjoys walks and meditation by the ocean in Del Mar and spending time with her beloved family and friends. She loves reading, exercising, bargain shopping and fashion design. On Sundays, she can be found attending a modern Buddhism service, which gives her a touchstone for the compassion and wisdom that she strives to bring to all that she touches.
